CipherForces runs **every tool entirely in the user's browser** — no file ever uploads to our servers. Processing happens via JavaScript and WebAssembly on the user's device. This is our core differentiator against cloud-based competitors (Adobe, Smallpdf, iLovePDF, TinyPNG) which upload user files to their servers.

## How tools work

Every tool runs client-side via `pdf-lib`, `pdfjs-dist`, `tesseract.js`, `@ffmpeg/ffmpeg`, canvas APIs, `mammoth`, `docx`, or similar browser-native processing. Documented exceptions that use our API routes (all SSRF-protected and rate-limited): SSL Checker (TCP handshake), Privacy Checker (URL fetch for analysis), and Breach Checker (Have-I-Been-Pwned API proxy). All API routes discard request data after returning the result.
