Deep dive

About Split CSV Files.

Split a Big CSV Into Smaller Files

Drop in one CSV and get back several — either a fixed number of rows per file, or one file per unique value in a column you choose. The header row is copied onto the top of every output file, so each piece opens cleanly in Excel, Google Sheets, or any importer. A single result downloads on its own; multiple files come back zipped together.

It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so it is safe for customer lists, exports, and anything with names, emails, or order data in it — the kind of file you should not paste into a random website. There is no row cap, no signup, and no watermark on the output.

Common Use Cases

  • Import limits: Break a 200,000-row export into 10,000-row chunks that fit a CRM, email platform, or e-commerce importer's per-file cap.
  • One file per group: Split a master sheet into a separate CSV for each region, salesperson, store, or status.
  • Clean handoffs: Send each team only their own rows instead of the entire list.
  • Email attachments: Slice an oversized CSV into pieces small enough to attach.
  • Safe test runs: Pull a manageable first chunk to trial an import before running the full load.

An honest caveat: because everything runs in the tab, the whole file has to fit in your browser's memory — very large files (hundreds of MB) can be slow on older machines, and splitting by a column with thousands of unique values is capped to keep the browser responsive.

Privacy: This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your CSV is parsed and split on your own device and never leaves it.
