Convert Currency
Turn any amount into another currency at up-to-date European Central Bank rates.
Private by design. Only currency codes are sent to load the public rate table — your amount is multiplied right here on your device and is never uploaded.
Rates come from the European Central Bank via the open-source Frankfurter API and update on business days (~16:00 CET). Weekends and holidays show the last published rates — treat figures as reference, not a live trading quote.
About Convert Currency.
Convert Currency at Live European Central Bank Rates
Pick a currency to convert from, a currency to convert to, and type an amount. The converter pulls the current reference rates, computes the result on your device, and shows you the exchange rate, its publication date, and the inverse rate so you can sanity-check both directions. A swap button flips the pair in one tap.
Rates come from the European Central Bank via the open-source Frankfurter API — the same reference set banks and accountants use as a neutral daily benchmark. Once a rate table loads it is cached in your browser session, so switching the target currency or swapping the pair is instant and needs no new request.
Why ours is different
Most converters route your amount through their server and pad the page with trackers and ads. This one sends only the currency codes needed to load the public rate table — your amount is multiplied right here on your device and never leaves it. There is no account, no key, and no limit on how many conversions you run.
- Travel budgeting: See what a hotel, meal, or tour in euros, yen, or pounds costs back in your home currency before you book.
- Freelance invoicing: Quote or reconcile an overseas client's payment against a trusted ECB benchmark rate on a known date.
- Online shopping: Check the real cost of an item priced in a foreign currency before your card's markup gets added.
- Bookkeeping and expenses: Record a purchase or receipt at the reference rate for the day it happened, with the exact rate date shown.
- Quick sanity checks: Confirm whether an app or exchange booth is giving you a fair rate by comparing against the ECB reference.
Honest caveat: these are daily reference rates, not a live trading quote. The ECB publishes them on business days around 16:00 CET, so on weekends and holidays you will see the last published set — treat the figures as a reliable benchmark, not the exact price a bank or exchange will charge after fees and spreads.
Privacy: the conversion math runs entirely in your browser. Only currency codes are ever sent — to load the public rate table — and your amount is never uploaded to any server.
