Bates numbering gives every page in a legal production a unique, sequential identifier — a prefix plus a zero-padded number, like ABC000001 — so any page can be cited unambiguously during discovery. The stamp is drawn as real text in the corner you pick, and one continuous sequence can flow across every file in the set, exactly the way a production is numbered.

Honest caveat: this stamps a Bates label — it doesn't build a load file, redact, or reorganize anything, and it can't open password-protected PDFs, so remove the password first. The number is placed on top of the existing page; the underlying content is left untouched.
