Have a PDF you can open but that asks for a password every time, or one that blocks printing, copying, and editing? It runs the real qpdf engine compiled to WebAssembly right on your device, so your file and your password never leave your browser and there is nothing to upload.

Most "unlock PDF" sites upload your document to their servers — a real problem for contracts, financial statements, medical records, and anything confidential. Here the entire operation happens locally: drop the file, type the password you already use to open it, and download the unlocked version. It works offline and there is no sign-up.

This is not a way to break into a PDF you do not have the password for — qpdf needs the correct password to decrypt a protected file. What it removes cleanly is the password and the owner restrictions once you supply it (or, for a PDF that opens freely but blocks editing, the restrictions alone).

Many browser tools "unlock" a PDF by rendering every page to an image and stitching a new PDF from the pictures — which bloats the file and destroys selectable text, links, and searchability.
