About Extract Video Frames.
Turn Any Video Into Still Frames
Drop in a video and pull out its individual frames as image files. Choose a capture rate — one frame every few seconds, or a set number of frames per second — pick PNG or JPG, then download the whole set as a ZIP or grab just the single stills you want from the thumbnail grid.
Everything runs in your browser. The video is decoded and sampled right on your machine using a hidden video element and a canvas, so nothing is uploaded, there is no watermark, and there is no sign-up.
Honest caveat: the tool can only open videos your browser can already play. MP4 (H.264), WebM, and most MOV files work everywhere; HEVC/H.265 and some other codecs will not decode in a browser — convert those to MP4 first. Very large or long videos are limited by your device's memory, so each run is capped at 300 frames, spread evenly across the clip when you ask for more.
- Thumbnails and covers: Scrub a clip and save the exact frame you want as a poster image or video thumbnail.
- Contact sheets: Sample one frame every second to storyboard or review a shoot at a glance.
- Product shots: Pull clean stills from a rotating product video for a listing or a spec sheet.
- Training and QA: Grab evenly spaced frames from a screen recording or inspection footage for documentation.
- Motion study: Capture frames-per-second stills to analyze a golf swing, a gait, or a machine cycle.
- Image datasets: Turn footage into an image sequence for annotation or model training with no command-line tools.
Privacy: This tool runs entirely in your browser. The video is read from your device, decoded locally, and never leaves your computer.
