About Trim Video.
Trim a Video Down to the Part You Need
Drop in an MP4, MOV, WebM, M4V, or MKV, scrub the filmstrip timeline to set your in and out points, and cut. You get a live preview of the trimmed clip and a one-click download — and the whole thing runs in your browser, so the video is never uploaded.
Why Ours Is Different
Most online video trimmers upload your file to a server, queue it, watermark the result, or cap the length on a free plan. This one does none of that. By default it uses a stream-copy cut (-c copy), which slices at the container level without re-encoding — so even a long clip trims in a moment and the quality is identical to the source. When you need the cut to land on an exact frame, switch to Exact-frame mode, which re-encodes to MP4 (H.264 + AAC).
Honest caveat: the first trim downloads a ~25 MB video engine (FFmpeg), and everything runs on your own device — so re-encoding large clips is slow and memory-hungry, and very large files can exhaust a browser tab. Preview and scrubbing need a format your browser can decode (MP4/H.264 and WebM are safest); some MKV or AVI files won't preview even though they can still be trimmed and saved.
- Clip a highlight: Pull a 20-second moment out of a long recording to share or post.
- Trim dead air: Cut the fumbling at the start and end of a screen recording or meeting capture.
- Make a social cut: Grab a short segment for Instagram, TikTok, or a Story without installing an editor.
- Shrink an attachment: Stream-copy just the part you need to slip under an email or upload size limit.
- Sample a talk: Lift one answer or one point out of a long lecture or sermon to send to someone.
- Prep B-roll: Rough-cut source footage to length before dropping it into a bigger project.
Privacy: Everything runs entirely in your browser — the video is decoded, trimmed, and saved on your own device, and no file is ever sent to a server.
